Dr. Julian Arroyave received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 from the University of Antioquia, Colombia. He continued practicing small animal medicine in Colombia for 3 years before moving to Canada where he found a position as a veterinary assistant at 24 HR Animal Centre. With hard work and dedication, Dr. Arroyave has since obtained his license to practice veterinary medicine in Canada and in late 2013, was offered and participated in a prestigious, year long Small Animal Medicine and Surgical Internship at Toronto’s Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Referral Centre.
Dr. Arroyave truly believes in the advantages of online continuous education; just having access to the internet and a camera allows veterinarians to interact from all over the world and provides them with the ability to attend lectures by different specialists and leading authorities in veterinary medicine. This education has provided Dr. Arroyave with a broad perspective and approach to helping our furry patients, which is why he continues to attend several on-line courses with the Royal Veterinary College of London and Veterinary International Network (VIN), amoung others. Dr. Arroyave is committed to becoming a more educated and better veterinarian each day.
In his spare time, Dr. Arroyave (or Dr. Julian as he prefers) enjoys playing music, specifically the bass & guitar, playing soccer and historical reading.
Dr. Arroyave and his wife, Karen, have two cats, Tango and Bamboo, as well as a stray who has appeared to take a liking to them (or simply the food they offer), whom Dr. Arroyave and Karen have named Zapote.
